Sydney Friends in the 1990s

In the words of one of the world’s finest photographers, Steve McCurry, in the forward to his brilliant book ‘The Unguarded Moment’ – “If you want to be a photographer, first leave home”. He goes on to quote Paul Theroux, “Go as far as you can go, become a stranger in a strange land. Acquire humility.”

So when an opportunity to meet a friend in Australia appeared, I jumped in with both feet. It was the beginning of many adventures, camera in hand as my passport, my reason and my excuse.
